How do I cope with it all? - Caring

How do I begin? A lot has happened to myself and my husband in the last year. My husband was in a serious wreck in July of last year. In October, my sister and her husband disappeared. My brother-in-law was found dead two weeks after they disappeared and my sister has not been found. My husband and I are having trouble dealing with all of this. He is angry at the person who caused the wreck and I am angry and confused about what happened to him and what happened to my sister and her husband. My husband and I seem to be taking out our frustrations on each other. All we seem to do is fight. How do we communicate better without fighting? I love him dearly and I want our relationship to work out, but I cannot deal with the anger and fighting anymore. I would appreciate any comments.

Get help. Get as much help as you can. You can't lift a 2-ton weight by yourself, and you can't handle this heavy load by yourself. Do anything you can to help you find genuine ways of coping that will lead you out of the swamp - online resources, books, counselling, support groups, etc. on dealing with death, marriage problems, and your own grieving process. Everything that has happened has been a helluva shock to both your systems. You can't expect yourself to find your way easily thru this anymore than you could walk steadily if you had 2 broken legs. Reach out. As soon as you can. Reach out.
