Gifts from a Higher
Power - Susan
ALL: Have you read Misty's poems ???? Such a beautiful
gift she has been given. I would love to hear Kim sing
too. Maybe one of Misty's poems - WOW, I don't know if my
emotions could take it at this point. You two are an
inspiration for all of us. We each have our
"gifts" and should use them to enrich the world
(as you each do). Thank you for reminding me of that.
Our HP sure does have a way of getting to us when we
need it most. I had just had a "conversation"
with my *dh*. One where he was up to his old tricks of
trying to make me think I had single-handedly destroyed
the universe as we know it. I *personally* ruined our
fabulous marriage and family (gag.....).
Misty, your poem gave me the very thing I needed most
- hope. Hope that tomorrow is another day and I will be
in a BETTER place in it. I will start looking for my own
"velvet sofa".
Thank you for your gift to me and to the rest of us in
need of hope and inspiration.

Well, I just think you should utilize this knowledge
that you gained about single-handedly destroying the
world to realize just how powerful you are. I had no
idea! Since you have so very much power, would you please
use it for good and fix everyone's problems at this web
site?
You know of course that you are already in a better
place, it's the other one who just tries to drag you back
into the swamp. Be strong and "I'll see ya'll"!

We are silly!!! Thank God - He gave us laughter and a
sense of humor to get us over the rough spots. Thanks for
the ROFLOL, oh mighty cool one. Serious, for minute,
thank you.... what is that saying about alligators in the
swamp (up to my WHAT?). Now about that accent you
have....... Lawsey me, don't ya'll know I am from the
South originally. Glad you didn't take offense at the
teasing.
I was raised in Almost Heaven (WVa). Lived in FL, GA,
TN and AL. THEN to top it off, I spend most of my work
day talking with folks in the South.... I have the most
frustrating "uniquely blended" Southern accent
you are EVER likely to hear. As I speak to people in each
different state - my accent changes to fit!!!! Co-workers
have a blast with that.. "Oh, Scarlett, do the
Alabama one" etc. (yes, most midwesterners only
think of that red-haired vixen, then again I am IRISH and
have auburn hair ??!!!)
I have relatives in TN. All I had to do was go there
on vacation and it took me DAYS to learn midwestern
(Ohio) again. When I retire, it will be to Asheville, NC
- so I will **nevah lose my accent dahlin' **. Now I know
why you are so Cool, Kim. {{{{{{{Kim}}}}}}}

You girls crack me up in the nicest way!:))) You both
help make this forum seem like a home. And I agree -
Misty's poems reached me and Lynda in ways that the
English language normally can't. When I've gone inside to
my special place in the past, there was a valley with a
field of all different kinds of flowers, each one unique.
It was that uniqueness that made the valley a rich
tapestry. Those flowers laugh and sing whenever I go
inside to that special place. You helped remind me of
that place.:))) Huggggs. P.S. But no comeback about
"blooming idiots"!!!
From: Silly Susan
Bernd - SHOOT........ Now you took all the fun out of
it !!! Bloomin' idiots - indeed !!!! *why, dahlin', NEVAH
would we say such a ridiculous thang"* But we might
want to discuss **daffy-dills**. I'm glad we made you
laugh, I'm glad we make US laugh !!!! I know I sure
needed one at that point - helps put all the crap in
perspective sometimes.
BUT, does anyone actually KNOW that silly saying about
alligators and draining the swamp?? I have decided that I
need to use that as my (mental) "protection"
the next time I get one of those **lovely** phone calls
!!!! Cool Kim gave me a gift without knowing it.....
Oddly enough, my secret place inside is an old cottage
with French doors opening into a beautiful garden,
complete with gazebo and a 'singing' fountain/bird bath.
The inside is a lot of windows and soft colors, with
sunshine beaming through the lace curtains. (I have very
Victorian taste in decorating.) Misty's "Velvet
Sofa" hit me like a ton of bricks - since there
SHOULD be one in my cottage. I am going to find it,
that's a promise !!! {{{{{{Bernd}}}}}}

It's funny that you two talk about your private place.
I have only dabbled in deep relaxation and meditation.
When it came to the point to find a place in my mind that
would be safe, I couldn't think of one. Every time I
imagined one, I could sense danger coming or my mind
would make something bad happen. The *only* place I have
been able to come up with that seems safe is a little
place secluded in the woods. There's a small water fall
spilling into a little pondish pool of water. Next to it
is a large flat rock that I can lay on in the warm sun
with a cool, gentle breeze blowing on my skin. I have
jean shorts, sneakers and a sports bra top with a shirt
tied around my waist. (I'm also twenty pounds thinner,
but that's a whole nother subject!). Anyway, I can hear
the birds singing, the water falling and I am completely
alone with nature. So far nothing has disturbed that
peace I feel there, but it's a little scary.
The other thing to Susan, I *love* victorian
"stuff". My house doesn't exactly reflect it,
but then again when I'm in my 40s and the kids are out of
college in their successful careers (please God!), then I
will have a little place for myself, near the woods or
ocean and decorate to my hearts content with victorian
finds from flea markets, etc. I was actually on the web
last night looking under "victorian" for any
websites dedicated to such. I have had subscriptions to a
few magazines that have expired and wondered if they had
an on-line magazine. So far I haven 't found one.
Geez, this is getting too creepy. (They act alike,
they walk alike, at times they even talk
alike.....remember Patty Duke show, maybe we're long lost
southern belle cousins, huh!?)

Might be hard to find a safe place in Kansas - don't
you guys have a lot of tornados over there - DOROTHY
???!!!! (might as well "join us" in our
hilarities). Somehow I see you by the ocean - tumbled
rocks, waves crashing against the shore, you standing in
a tidal pool with your pants legs rolled up and you shoes
in your hand. At sunset, with the wind blowing in your
hair - blowing all the "BAD" stuff away. Sunset
with the beautiful pinks and purples - so calming, yet so
alive. Can you see it yet ?? Peace to you.
From: Misty
Right now I am having an argument with my HP. When I
got divorced after 25 years it took awhile for me to see
that the worst things that happen to us can also be the
best things that happen. I haven't got to that point this
time. I am just trying to find a little serenity. I love
the idea of a safe place. I don't have one but it will
give me something to think about. Lots of Love and Hugs.

In search of gifts........ Special places deep inside,
the only safe place to go, to hide........ Misty, Kim,
Bernd & Lynda and ALL seekers, Have any others see
the work of the Painter - Thomas Kinkade ???? IMHO he is
the most gifted person alive today !!! At least with a
paint brush. For some idea of the beauty and peace one
person can carry inside......... Go to
www.thomaskinkade.com. I have some of the inxpensive
stuff - have been collecting for 2-3 years. Calendars,
books etc., can't afford the "real" stuff. I
want to have the peace and beauty in my heart and in my
life that his creations reflect. When I am REALLY down, I
can just "dive into" one of the pictures and
find a little of the tranquility I so desperately need.
Just an FYI, we are all looking for ways to cope - this
is a really good one for me.
