And I wouldn't agree with you. To suggest that bad people *always* come into our lives because we somehow attract them seems to me much more of a "victim" stance than to accept that some folks are just sleazy, and there is no earthly way we could have known that before being sleazed.

A person can be codependent, and cling to unhealthy people because of their own unhealthy lives, yes. But the fact is, there are some folks who are just nasty. This fact doesn't make us victims; whether or not we are victims depends on how we choose to deal with them.
