Geez....I'm reading back over what I wrote and I sound way too forgiving. Am I letting him off too easy? I think his own guilty feelings are punishment enough for him, he hates himself right now and is extremely depressed. Perhaps hating yourself is the worst punishment of all. Should I be less forgiving? I feel good about my decision but wonder how weak I might appear.
