Even though you may be having intense feelings toward her, it really sounds like she just looks toward you to listen and support her. She may not really have those same feelings toward you, but that may have alot to do with the fact she has this "trucker guy" in her life. My advice is to enjoy the friendship and relationship you two already have and work on that for now. Or unleast untill this other guy is out of her life. First and foremost you don't want to sell yourself short only to have to pick up the pieces if things don't go the way you hope for. It may be a tired, old cliche but "good things come to those who wait." Believe me, I would doubt that if you don't push her into she really isn't, she'll come to her senses and know what a great friend you are and what a even better partner you would make.
One other thing, about long distance relationships, they are the most difficult, but in alot of cases the most rewarding!
But that just my opinion......
