Hi friend!!I don't know whather it is "healthy to be kicked in the butt a few times like you say" (you make me smile Bugga:):) I can tell you have a very witty sense of humour!...what I do know, is that sometimes it is lmost necessary to have a good argument and a few 'things' that might not be too pleasent said in order to clear the air and to carry on with the relationship in an even deeper, more respectful level. I've often put up with it from my teenage kids but invariably they always end up coming 'with their tails behind their legs' and we have a chat and cuddles and we are even closer afterwards as a result. I think sometimes the fact that they dare to do this, and that they feel comfortable and secure enough with you to be able to misbahave for a while knowing that you will still love them at the end of the day says a lot about the love and trust that exists.
