what a word!!!

I am sitting here, one year after first meeting who I thought was the woman of my dreams, and am amazed at how now that we have split up, she doubts how I felt about her. To me, love is a most precious thing, something most of us only find once in a lifetime. Looking back, I am not altogether sure what it was that I had found with her, but the two-way, unconditional love was not there. Love is about giving...and I gave all I had to the relationship, only to be left alone. I guess all things happen for a reason though, and I am learning those reasons may only be known to God.

Believe me, I am no expert on the subject, but I do know one thing...I am in love, the kind that loves back, with no doubts or confusion. Love to me is NOT about self, its about giving yourself to another. Its a giving that goes much deeper than emotions or feelings. Selflessness...thats the word I am looking for. Giving without regard to yourself, but with total regard for the uplifting and betterment of the one you love. I know, novel concept in this day of looking out for number one!!!
