David, this may be a tiny thing, but it also may be important to you! I heard you say in this post, who will protect my heart, if I lie down? This seemed to mirror something you said earlier about wanting to protect your loved ones---

Could this mean that your desire to protect them is really a need to be protected yourself?? I know that I am a 'caregiver', and I also feel a DEEP DEEP need to be protected (my father died when I was 6, my mother suffered from depression, I definitely took care of her emotionally, while still a child myself)

Maybe my interpretation is more for my ears (funny how it works that way here!), but maybe it is something that rings with you, too??

The key is CARING without CARETAKING?
