February 4 Sometimes I look back on my relationship, and see periods of struggle, problems, or even crisis. I try to peer into the future and see what difficulties might await me there too. When I dwell negatively on either the past or the future, what I find is that they both seem to affect my piece of mind today, and take away from the joys and the good times of the present. The biggest impact I can have on the future is by making the present as good as I can. Having a great day today, with laughter, hugs, quiet moments, and smiles, is like preparing a garden for seeds that will only sprout tomorrow. No matter what tomorrow brings, can't I face difficulties better if I meet them with warm memories, calmness, a belief in myself, and a feeling that I deserve to give myself the best today can offer? The less time I devote to dwelling on the past or future, the more time I have to live in the present, and to find the most loving choices for myself and my SO today.
